BBM Reporter Misleads on Water Price History (part 5 of 6)

Mesquite, NV.: Last Thursday Barbara Ellestad, for Battle Born Media (BBM), published another article stating her opinion on the legal status of the case between the owners of the Wolf Creek Golf course and the Virgin Valley Water Board (VVWB).

In part 5 of here proposed 6-part attack on the owners of Wolf Creek, she again attempts to convince her readers that the VVWB has an absolute right to set the price of public water used for irrigation on Wolf Creek. That seems to be her theme: elected officials have an “absolute right” to do whatever they want and whenever they want.

Battle Born Media Reporter Gets It Wrong on Rate Setting Process(Part 4 of 6)

This is a response to part 4 of Battle Born Media’s (BBM) of a 6-part series in which they through their “reporter” Barbara Ellestad, attempt to blame. BBM originally scheduled five parts. Now they have added a 6th part to discredit individuals who support Wolf Creek. We will write to those acquisitions when they appear.

In part one  BBM “reporter” Barbara Ellestad grossly misrepresented the May 2018 lawsuit filed by Paradise Canyon, LLC, owner the Wolf Creek golf club against the Valley Water District (VVWD).

In Part 2, Ellestad twisted the facts in a 2011 lease agreement between the two parties as she tries to defend the VVWD.

In part 3, she continues to take selective comments from a deposition taken by Virgin Valley Water District attorney Jedediah (Bo) Bingham involving Cory Clemetson, a partner with his brother in Paradise Canyon as if that confrontation somehow proves that the case lacks merit. Also, in Part 3, Ellestad attempted but failed to make the point that the VVWD could claw back alleged unused water from Wolf Creek and lease that potion to the Nevada Water Authority (SNWA).

In part 4, Ellestad returns to her theme that the Virgin Valley Water Board (VVWB) has sole discretion to set water rates and again uses selective wording from the Bingham-Clemetson deposition.

Battle Born Media Reporter On Rampage Against Mesquite Golf Course (Part 1 of 6)

When Barbara Ellestad, the “reporter” for the Mesquite (NV) Local News (MLN) left her position as an elected official on the Virgin River Water Board (VVWB), she immediately launched into acerbic attacks on the owners Paradise Canyon and their business Wolf Creek Golf Course.

Supporting Ellestad is Kirk Kern, the Battle Born Media publisher for MLN. He has been advised that much of what Ellestad says is misleading, filled with innuendos and could be libelous.  Once or twice Kern has published opinions questioning Ellestad’s “yellow journalist” approach to the truth. Unfortunately, he most often lets her questionable work stand without opposition.

Now she has decided, and Kern apparently approves, to launch 5-part series casting aspersions against the owners of Wolf Creek and their supporters in a desperate attempt to hide from the public the questionable behavior of the majority on the VVWB and their attorney over time.

Nevada-today will supplement her articles with additional information that puts what she says into a context that is more suitable for an open and honest exchange of ideas.
